Keyword Tags

A very important part of your documentation is the index. There are several ways to create an index for your Help and your print documentation in Doc-O-Matic. For HTML Help two separate indexes one for the index pane and one for the Doc-O-Matic index page is created. For MS Help 2 an additional third context index for the integration into Visual Studio and CodeGear RAD Studio is created. Use the keywords or the XML compatible property tag and the attribute keyword to add keywords manually. Use the fkeywords tag or the property tag and the attribute fkeyword to add Help 2 context index entries manually.

  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. On the Index page, select the Use topic title as index entry for generic topics check box to add topic titles for generic topics as index entries.
  4. On the Topic Titles page, type variables in the corresponding box to set index entries for symbols.
  5. Add several types of index entries on the Index page.
  6. Set index entries for AutoDoc topics by typing variables in the corresponding box, on the AutoDoc > AutoDoc Content > Titles page.
  7. Remove prefix characters for your index entries.
    • To remove the prefixes, type them in Prefixes on the Index Prefixes page. Doc-O-Matic removes the listed prefixes from the index.
    • To sort index entries on the index page by titles without prefix and print titles with prefixes, select the Use modified index for sorting only check box.
