Creating Topics
  1. In the Content Manager, select a location for your new topic. The new topic appears as subtopic of the topic that you select when creating a new topic.
  2. On the Manage tab, in the Create Content group, click New Topic .
  3. In the Topic ID box, type a Topic ID.
  4. The topic ID must be unique in your project.
  • On the Editor tab, in the Sections group, click Empty Topic .
  1. Click Save .
  2. In the Select Topic Location dialog box, select Select Other.
  3. In the Select DTX dialog box, find the folder where you want to store your DTX file.
  4. Enter a filename.
  • In the Editor in the Topic group, click the Tools arrow and then click Delete Topic .
  • In the Editor right-click, and then select Delete Topic.
  1. In the Editor right-click.
  2. Select Change Topic ID.
  3. Enter the new name for your topic.

If the topic ID consists of just one word, Doc-O-Matic can automatically create a link to this topic, each time the word appears in a topic. For details, see Automatic Linking.
