Additional Information Sections (Examples)

Additional Information type sections are used to present additional information to a topic and to give examples. Only Additional Information type sections can be used several times in a topic, so that you can give more than one example in a topic. If you use other sections more than once in a topic, the text of these sections is concatenated to one text block.

  1. There are two ways to name Additional Information type section. You can:
    • Name them individually by inserting a heading as very first string below the section heading.
    • Number them automatically. For example, Example 3 will be displayed as section heading for the third given example in a topic. You can change this default setting on the Section Options page.

There are two ways to show Additional Information type section in Help systems. You can:

  • Present them in-line as any other section.
  • Show them on a separate page. Doc-O-Matic shows these sections in-line and on a separate page by default.
  1. On the Quick Access Toolbar, click Settings .
  2. Click the corresponding Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & Format > Sections.
  4. Clear the check box next to the section name (for example Examples).

  4. Click the Title or the Text tab.
  5. Clear the check box next to the link to this section.
