Link Database Options

How to get here: In Settings on the HTML Configuration tab, select Files & Format > Files & Folders > Link Database

  1. Store all CHM files in the same directory; otherwise inter-project-links do not work.
  2. The link database prefix is ignored. For example, to create an HTML Help file, which links to the MFC documentation, you must copy the generated CHM (and .CHI) files to the same directory that contains MFC HTML Help files.

You need not store MS Help 2 projects in the same output directory to link between two projects.

automatic linking A Doc-O-Matic feature that automatically creates links from words or symbol names to topics the topic IDs of which are the same as the words or symbol names or can be associated with them.

project database A file containing all topic IDs of a Doc-O-Matic project as link targets for HTML Help systems and PDF.

prefix To add characters at the beginning of a word or a filename such as the path to the file.
