Formatting Elements

Topic Title (Sub Topic)

In Help systems one topic is one page. In printed documentation you can break pages. Each topic can start on a new page. The next sections familiarize you with formatting Topic Pages. Topic Pages consist of:

  1. On the Views Bar, click Content Manager.
  2. Do one of the following:
    • To join subtopics for only one HTML configuration, turn off Apply Status Globally .
    • To join subtopics for all HTML configurations, turn on Apply Status Globally .
  3. Select the corresponding configuration in the Configuration menu.
  4. In the Join Sub-Topics column you can determine for each group topic that its subtopics appear on this page. For example, to present all members of a class on the page of the class, you would select the Join Sub-Topics check box next to the class topic.
  5. To format topic titles of joined topics edit the Topic Title (Sub-Topic) Formatting Element.
  1. On the Views Bar, click Settings.
  2. Click the PDF Configuration tab.
  3. Select Files & FormatPage LayoutNumbering & Breaks.
  4. Under Break, select the 2 Page Full or the Page check box for each chapter level.
Notes

In your PDF document all sections appear as part of the topic. In your Help systems some sections appear in separate windows. The Formatting Elements for these Section Pages are listed in the category Section Pages. For details, see Navigation Information.
